Planning seating arrangements for marquee events

This week we are excited to announce the launch of the new Gala Tent range of chairs, ideal for outdoor marquee events, and with the festive party season fast approaching, our blog this week offers some top tips for planning seating arrangements at your next marquee event.

Before buying or hiring chairs for your event, it’s important to think about who your guests are and what activities or entertainment you have planned.  For example, marquee events often involve a sit down dinner for which you will require comfortable banqueting chairs.  These chairs, like the Padded Folding Chair from Gala Tent, are at the right height for eating a meal whilst sitting at a table.  They are also compact in design, so allow you to maximize space within a marquee.

For wedding receptions and more informal events, like birthday parties and christenings, it’s important to ensure that your guests are comfortable, even though you might want to make room for a dance floor and other entertainment.  Make sure that you provide adequate seating, especially for elderly guests who won’t want to be stood up for periods of time.  Folding chairs are ideal as you can seat all of your guests during dinner and then fold away a number of chairs to make room for a dance floor later on.  Our new heavy duty chair trolley makes things even easier as it can hold up to 30 chairs and, as it’s on wheels, you can easily move it out of the way of the celebrations.

Of course it’s not all about comfort, you will want your marquee to look stylish for your event so consider choosing chairs that complement the linings of the marquee.  Our new styles of chairs look stunning inside marquees, with the new range including the Samson Folding Chair in black, the complementary Delilah folding chair in cream and the elegant Crystal Transparent Ghost Chair.
